I used to have a Steelseries keyboard and was very disappointed with the switches used. I had an m750 with qx2 switches and I just didn't like them. I'm not quite sure how to explain it, but they just felt out of place. I'm not usually a fan of linear switches (as a gamer I know this is blasphemy) as I tend to have a heavy hand and accidentally hold Shift or Ctrl which messes up my moves and kills me. Not only that, I feel more confused when I'm typing college essays and have to go back to revise them more often. I needed a new keyboard with more room for my mouse as I play on low resolutions and have been looking at TKL models from different companies. I originally planned to use Logitech's G Pro with my G Pro Wireless, but then realized they have Romer G switches. I tested them and found them ok, but the lack of customization and non-original keycaps didn't suit me. The new Apex Pro TKL came out with its OmniPoint switches, which are linear switches whose actuation point you can change at will. Again, I'm not a fan of Linear so this was a disappointment for me as the rest of the keyboard caught my eye. Luckily, Apex 7 lets you choose from three switches on offer. I chose the brown ones as I wanted something fast but with feedback. When it arrived 2 days later I was struck by its size and beauty. The most beautiful keyboard I've ever had. The switches have a nice feel, and there are a few features you won't find on some other TKL keyboards, like dial. The magnetic palm rest isn't plush, it's a flat rubber surface that supports your hand. That doesn't mean it's uncomfortable or soft, but it does make it difficult to clean as it attracts dust. These keycaps have a cheap feel and are my main gripe with premium keyboards, but luckily I've had better clear keycaps before. Overall I'm happy with the keyboard and would recommend it to anyone considering buying one.
