The material is kind of like a stretchy t-shirt. Not as nice as I would have liked; however, it fits pretty well, and flatters a curvy figure. I typically order an XL though, and I sized down to a L on this one. It stretches after a couple of washes, so I honestly could almost get away with a M, and I have 38DD's, a 33" waist and 43" hips (last I measured), so you have been warned! The L still looks great, but it doesn't keep its shape as well as I had hoped. Great little casual dress though!
