Bad Design: Gauge Wheels

I wanted to like this wheel but apparently my old Lufkin wheel ruined me. The wheel is divided into three segments. Sounds good, but if you want to carry the bike out of your pocket when it's folded, it's awkward because it keeps unfolding. The display is black with white numbers that are hard to read so I have to lift it up to read it. The wheel won't stop on a measurement and spins too easily so you lose the measurement without seeing the number as it has to be lifted to read the number. I often use this in areas with poison ivy and dog poop. and dirt. I don't want to touch it with my hands when measuring. Reset is a small lever that is difficult to press. It also cannot be pushed off, you have to pick it up and use your hand. The footrest slides backwards and you have to lift the wheel to get it out by hand. It really needs to be on the side so you can "kick" the stand with your foot. The only nice thing is how it spins. The wheel turns very easily. But all the negative aspects made this purchase a failure and I cannot return it because I have already used it. Stick with Lufkin. Or at least do more research on the wheel before you buy one. The pouch is not needed and the tape measure that comes with it is thin and not needed either. I wish they would put more into their design instead of giving those other two items. I think you live and learn.
