I was a little afraid to order an unnamed brand when the parts stores were selling the same brand for three times as much. My neighbor who is an electrical engineer said they would be fine as many of the branded parts are actually just rebranded from the same overseas suppliers. It took me over 6.5 hours to get the old ignition coils and spark plugs out of my 2007 Toyota. Rav4 and replace with these coils and new candles. I hadn't changed the spark plugs in my car in over 20 years and had a rude awakening. It's not the same as changing the spark plugs on a '72 Mercury! As I got the job done, I watched related YouTube videos online, pausing every 5 seconds until I completed each step. Everything was pretty basic except for the odd corners and tight fit on the firewall. I finished the job and the truck purred like a kitten. all warning lights went out immediately (VSC, 4wd, Check Engine, etc.). New coils and spark plugs replaced the 11 year old original kit on my 142,000 mile truck; so it was too late. all stuttering and rough idling disappeared. I swear it accelerates faster now, but maybe I've been riding bad coils for so long that seeing stock performance again seems like an improvement. Anyway, they've been working great for the last week and I'm glad I didn't have to shell out $700-$1000 to steal. The 6.5 hour job of changing the spools had nothing to do with a set of spools, I have Toyota to thank for their handy do-it-yourself development. The coils fit very easily. I ended up breaking off half of the original electrical connector brackets due to their age and thermal brittleness; But the connections are pretty solid on the new coils and I added some heat resistant zip ties just to be safe.
