Lids do not hold/seal

I have enjoyed using these jars but there is a defect with the lids staying in place. As soon as I poured hot water for tea and set the lid to steam, the lid popped out. I tried several times to RELIABLY push the lid down and it still came up every time. I bought 2 jars so I tried this test by swapping jar and lid and the problem was the same. I'm not sure how people get upset that it's airtight if the lid doesn't even stay closed for 3 seconds. I haven't tried cold liquids yet. Unfortunately I sent both glasses back.
