After working with vegan leather the result was terrible. Then the knife didn't cut and it's new. The other side is that the thread keeps coming out. I spend more time threading this thing than I do sewing it. I worked on a serger about 15 years ago and haven't touched it since. I ordered it and right out of the box it works like a charm. It comes with pre-threaded threads, tie a new thread to it and pull it through the machine. My advice: get the same colors so you can test the machine and make sure it's working properly. It sews well and cuts well. The finish is clean. Re-threading is a little tricky, so make sure you make a long tail after you've finished your work. I can only recommend that.
