Review on πŸ’¦ Corsair iCUE H115i RGB Pro XT 280mm Radiator Liquid CPU Cooler with Dual 140mm PWM Fans and Software Control by Jeremy Floyd

I miss the AM3+ mounts.

A few years ago I had an older AM3+ FX processor and an h100i and loved it. After switching to Ryzen, I decided to go with the stock cooler and ended up wanting another Corsair AIO cooler. I bought this 115i based on my positive experience but immediately regretted it. The decision to mount am4 on these coolers sucks. The Intel brackets actually look like they protect the processor. However, the AM4 brackets are two pieces for each side of the cooler, and they must "snap" onto the box. However, they can easily detach when trying to install the device. Then you have to play that balance by screwing on each side a little so it flushes. I had my mobo in a case so I had very little sight to see if it was level. Once, when I actually installed all of this, the pump wouldn't start. I heard nothing in the radiator core or pipes. The fans would only start cooling the heatsink and nothing else. I made sure to connect the female SATA power cable for the pump to the male SATA power cable, which connects directly to the power supply, no adapters or daisy chain. I then replaced the SATA power cables with 2 spares and neither was able to start the pump. We tested the same cables for multiple hard drives and both cables worked when the drives were powered on. So the block is defective and cannot be used to cool my CPU. This is my first terrible experience with a Corsair product. I have indeed made a replacement request and will update and complete my review once I receive the new unit. At the moment I cannot recommend this cooler for AM4 users. Hope that helps.
