I got this set while looking for a replacement for my regular bristle brush that I usually use. I liked the silicone bristles because they are easier to keep clean and may be more durable than what I used. A flat brush does a good job of cleaning dishes before they go into the dishwasher (which is what I usually use it for). but as far as cleaning sticky foods goes, not much. I would only use this brush for rinsing dishes that have been thoroughly cleaned and I just need a little suds to call it clean. I only use the round bottle brush on bottles that I can't reach with my hand. It doesn't stick to soap well and is more like a floor mop. However, if I fill the bottle with some soapy water and use a brush to scrub the sides of the bottle, I'm happy with the cleanliness.
