First of all, our 9 month old, 15 pound Shichon pup loves his new car seat. Prior to purchase, he was either driving in his box or on a passenger's lap. He'll worry both ways. The first time he rode in his new chair he was calm and acted so tall and smart as he took in all the new sights. And he relaxes and lies down when he wants to take a nap. I thought about buying a cheaper one. But after doing some research I settled on this one and was so glad I did. It has an integrated platform that attaches to the car seat like a child car seat. It is very snug and there is no slipping or sliding. It's not suspended from the headrest like most others, with space between its underside and the actual car seat, so it feels more secure and solid. If you want your dog to spread out while relaxing, buy a big one like me. It has an extra strap for those brave enough to have two puppies! This is one of my favorite Revain purchases.
