An improved mounting system makes this a welcome upgrade for the classic air cooler

Replaced the original Hyper 212 EVO that was several years old with a fan that howled. I've never been intrigued by the editing hardware of the original version. It was finicky, a bit difficult to get everything lined up correctly, and too easy to make a mistake. I always walked away after installing it, wondering if I did it right. The V2's new mounting system is MUCH easier, less time consuming and virtually secure. Cooler Master also tilted the heat pipes relative to the base. You need to keep this in mind when installing a heatsink, but when installed correctly, it provides additional clearance for your DIMMs. One thing that confused me was the loosening of the backplate even after the mounting studs on the front of the motherboard were pushed all the way out. I double checked my installation procedure and got everything right. However, this looseness did not become a problem; The spring pressure of the heatsink mounting screws will pull the entire assembly snug and tight after you install the heatsink and tighten the screws. However, I would like the instructions (the weakest aspect of the product) to mention this. The SickleFlow 120 fan is easy to install and surprisingly quiet, and my Core i3-8100 is now even cooler than the previous version. With my selected silent fan profile on the Z370 motherboard, idle temperatures are around 30C. Load with Prime95 peaks at around 55C. I find this performance excellent as I like to use a relaxed fan profile. In short, the V2 Hyper 212 EVO version is a welcome upgrade to the classic air cooler and I highly recommend it.
