SO easy to install but I don't like the contact area

Having used a previous 212 EVO because it worked really well for the price I always hated the process and immediately went for it when watching a video about the easy install it looked and this part is awesome. However, CM made a big deal on previous models by touching the 4 heatpipes without gaps, making it easier to apply and make thermal paste. Make sure the surface has been coated. The only thing I don't like about this V2 model is that they are set back a bit and the surface feels uneven…

Forget aesthetics, get V2! (and 4 whistles)

OK. I know all black or RBG looks very tempting, but for two bucks less you get a lot more performance with the V2. Main differences?1. Improved mounting bracket.2. Asymmetrical design. Once installed, the fan doesn't hang over your RAM. Taken together, the above two reasons make it almost stupid and easy to install. If my old cooler hadn't ripped my CPU out of its socket, it honestly would have taken me 20 minutes max. I was able to install everything just by pulling out a RAM stick. In terms…

Unusable CPU fans

Completely unusable. The bracket design on this one is rubbish. The back panel uses these small, partially threaded studs. If you put them in the motherboard and then screw them on the other side, they can't be tightened enough because, as mentioned, they're partially threaded, not fully threaded. Thus, the bracket moves completely away from the motherboard. How does it get through quality assurance and into mass production? Save yourself the headache and buy the Noctua NH-U12S, which is…

Lowered the temperature of the processor by 20 ° Celsius!

I have been using Folding at Home (F@H) and a Ryzen 5600X with the stock Wraith cooler at 100% load for several hours and my temperatures have been between 84°C and 87°C, when the CPU was in operation at 100% load and 44°C idle. Today I installed a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO V2 with a second fan (Cooler Master 1200+-200rpm that came with my tower) and Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste and now my idle temp is around 39°C and stable at 66 °C . at full load! Now I can run F@H 24/7 or games with no…

Great entry level cooler to replace the stock cooler

Replaced the stock Wraith cooler on my Ryder 5 3600 with this unit. Mounting system is easy to install; However, this requires access to the back of your mobo. This was not a problem for me as I was building a new building. This can be a little cumbersome for those who want to replace the cooler with a mobile device that's already connected to the case. Keep this in mind if you're working with a pre-built build and don't know exactly where each connection should be in the mobo. It would be a…

Notice to LGA 1366 users - no plastic pins

I guess I'm an old man. I don't want to adapt to new technologies. I built a serious computer in 2009 and it's been 12 years and I'm still using it. He's still quick to me, which tells me I'm either slowing down or he's speeding up. Anyway, I like the X58 chipset. It's convenient for me. But one thing I've always hated is the little plastic snaps for typical LGA 1366 cooler configurations. It mounts UNDER the motherboard and provides you with METAL MOUNTING POINTS for the cooler. And this…

Hot trash literally

Installation is quite troublesome and requires two people. If you don't work with two people, you risk an incorrect sitting position. I'm also not keen on how hard I have to push down on the CPU to get to the holes on the motherboard. The instructions are pretty poor and actually required me to find a video. The cooling is slightly less than the standard cooler. I had a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius with my standard cooler before and after installation, I ran at 32-36 degrees…

It's big and much easier to install than expected.

This overview applies to V2. It was a replacement for the H115i that lasted over 4 years. I read many reviews about how difficult it was to install the original 212 as a replacement. I finally found the V2 at the bottom of AMD's cooler list and found that the mounting system had been improved. Luckily, my Corsair case has a cutout behind the motherboard and access to the CPU socket from the back. Removing the H115 and installing the AM3+ mount was incredibly easy. At first it seems like the…

Pros
  • Computer and accessories
Cons
  • Some bugs

Replaced the original Hyper 212 EVO that was several years old with a fan that howled. I've never been intrigued by the editing hardware of the original version. It was finicky, a bit difficult to get everything lined up correctly, and too easy to make a mistake. I always walked away after installing it, wondering if I did it right. The V2's new mounting system is MUCH easier, less time consuming and virtually secure. Cooler Master also tilted the heat pipes relative to the base. You need to…
