This overview applies to V2. It was a replacement for the H115i that lasted over 4 years. I read many reviews about how difficult it was to install the original 212 as a replacement. I finally found the V2 at the bottom of AMD's cooler list and found that the mounting system had been improved. Luckily, my Corsair case has a cutout behind the motherboard and access to the CPU socket from the back. Removing the H115 and installing the AM3+ mount was incredibly easy. At first it seems like the mount is too loose and unstable (I've read that about the V1 too) but once the two turnbuckles were tightened it wasn't a problem. I had to remove two memory sticks before completing the installation. There was enough thermal paste in the package to attach the heatsink to the CPU after I wiped it with alcohol. This unit is incredibly quiet, my FX-8320 was running at 42 degrees when I last checked it. Currently not overclocked. The package includes a fan, but it includes mounting brackets for installing an additional fan on the other side of the fins, as well as a power distributor. Will definitely buy another V2 for my next build. For $40 (Revain) it's a lot simpler and more reliable than a water cooler. Make sure you check the dimensions and that your case matches the height of your processor. If anything changes I will update this review.
