Not for jewelers when soldering and soldering accessories

Do not buy this flashlight if you are a jeweler. I think this is normal for applications that don't require fine control. The trigger is at the top with no control knob, which is uncomfortable and a little dangerous in any situation. The flame is not stable. It gets very hot but wastes a ton of butane. It doesn't stay on for the advertised length of time (probably if you had it on the lowest setting). I get a bigger consistency of solder for about three minutes, but then it spatters and cools. Annoying having to stop and warm up big chunks! The fire scale is plentiful even on a low setting and several different boron formulas. It's well made but I wouldn't recommend it if you need a controlled flashlight for fine work or even large parts like cuffs. Tried all blacksmith apps but gets too hot even on lower settings. The flame is big. I assume it's good for welding? Possibly kitchen uses. It might not even last long enough to ignite the metallic clay, I haven't tried it yet. I do not recommend for soldering, and even more for working with gold. I will keep it if I want to reticulate in my projects. I should have saved $ and gotten a big shot.
