This suit was actually for my 10 year old daughter (girls can wear suits too) who is tall and very thin. We usually get the same outfits for the music festivals we attend every year and unfortunately Opposuits doesn't have a girls line. So she chose a boy's suit and I had a short men's suit. We originally ordered 14 but they fit perfectly and we didn't have room to grow so we only took one wear from them. We returned it and got a 16, she had a large waist although a belt wouldn't fix anything. As has been said many times before, if your child is between sizes, save yourself the headache and ordering. Also, they're very thin, so I don't do that
