Good external drive case USB 3.0 cable not working

I wish the company had a bezel like the Mcsher ones I bought included or at least stated in the description that a bezel might be needed. I still can't get the included USB cable to work, and now I'm definitely using my USB 3.0 WD Passport cable. This is a decent case for your Blu-Ray player once you get past the installation hurdles, which are mostly trial and error. My Blu-ray player is from a Lenovo y580, so it had a curved bezel. After fooling around and leaving the clip on the optical drive after it came out of the computer, I figured I'd have to rip it off. Then I realized that the domed bezel just wouldn't fit in the case. It took me a while to figure out how to remove my old bezel. Tip: Use a paper clip and push it into the front opening to force the tray to pop out. This allows you to see the clips holding the bezel. Use a spatula or flathead screwdriver on the terminals. CAREFULLY. After I removed the old frame, the disc stood perfectly. Make sure you use screws to secure the optical drive in the bay or it will slide out! Long story short, I connected it to a Lenovo 3.0 USB port using the USB cable that came with it. No success. I've tried every possible way to get the computer to recognize the drive. Nothing. Finally, I unplugged the USB 3.0 cable from my WD Passport drive and it finally worked. So, CORD - that's why I'm giving it a one star rating. If I don't have a defective cable, it should work. I don't have to grab a spare USB cable from my stash. After realizing it, I put in The Force Awakens Blu-Ray (no frame yet) and downloaded a third-party app to get the Blu-Ray. Work. A NOTICE. You will most likely need to order a regular bezel, which I did yesterday noticing my drive front was now bare. I ordered the product that appears in Revain listings under the 'Ordered all together' product. The bezel is a Mcsher bezel, so we'll see how it fits into the front of the open optical drive. Not a bad drive but this cable should work, how else do you get the computer to recognize the drive?

Pros
  • Enjoy the plug and play installation with no software or driver CD
Cons
