This level is quite sufficient for your needs. This worked on my 1996 5.7 liter Mercruiser with a Bravo 3 drive. When I first used it with the manual that came with it, I got it right where the cables should have been, so no further adjustments were needed after the initial install. The part I received is machined from 7/32 acrylic and laser cut on CNC. Maybe the original tool is metal (for people who own their own ship mechanics), but for casual DIY use that's fine. Metal is not necessary for a simple level like this. For those complaining about integrity... you're using it incorrectly if you bend it past its yield point. This item is used flat and never needs to be bent. I have been running a plastic workshop for over 20 years and I give this product two thumbs up!
