I'll start by saying I'm so disappointed with this tank. I was so excited to receive it, all the parts were there. The instructions could have been a bit clearer, but I put it together. The gloves were a cool touch, but I used nitrile gloves instead. I didn't want the glass slipping out of my hands when using the cloth gloves that came with it. It's a good idea to wear gloves! I ordered this aquarium for a ball python. It's still not life size, but I wanted to put it in a larger case with more skins and a temperature gradient. There are a few things that are not entirely apparent from the photos and description. I thought the background was included just like in the first photo and there is no explanation anywhere for the background not being included. I assumed the substrate and plants were not included, but I was pretty sure there would be a rock background as Zoo med makes aquariums with the background included. In addition, the rear glass is in two pieces with a black plastic connector between the two panes. The sides are glass with a 4 inch mesh "window" also separated from the glass by a black connector. It's just that the whole thing is a bit flimsy for a ball python and doesn't hold moisture due to the extra ventilation. it was clearer from the photos and the description. I should have spent more time reading the reviews. It's beautiful, so I gave it two stars. It would be great for reptiles other than snakes. Another thing that is very strange about this aquarium is that the doors don't have a handle to open them. You almost have to use the suction cup attached to the hanging key to open the door. It's weird, but it looks really clean when installed. I turned on the background and I wish there weren't huge mesh panels on the sides.
