Set it up and it will dispense food as scheduled. But setting it up will require some experimentation and guesswork. It needs an app that is generalized for all of the products HBN sells. Yes, it has a camera. A floor level camera so you can see your pets chowing down while you are at work. You can even take a picture or a video for whatever reason. It also has a speaker and microphone so you can hear the crunch of every bite and talk to your pet while they are trying to eat. Since it has a speaker, you can record your voice to call them over to the device when it is about to dispense food, but since the sound quality wasn't great we reverted to the default tone.But, after disregarding the recorded dinner call one is left with a nice food dispenser that will offer up the predefined amount of food at the scheduled day and time. The amount size has a good range (1-9 portions). Our cats will eat from it though they have yet to sync to the tolling bell that signals it is time to eat. The shallow bowl is great for cats. As a pet feeder, it does a good job.
