I had a 2.5" SSD and wanted to use it without opening the computer to connect power and SATA. The case is quite simple, an aluminum box with two plastic connectors screwed into place at the ends, one of which has a power connector and SATA and the other is just a connector. The case comes with a screwdriver, which I really appreciate, and it's pretty easy to disassemble. It was very difficult to fit the SSD into the case and I quickly found that I couldn't align the end caps without removing both end caps. To be able to install the SSD I had to plug it in first and then put in a male end cap and then I could replace another end cap. After the hard drive installation went great (you obviously have to sacrifice SATA data transfer speed for USB data transfer speed), I was able to connect and work without any problems. I have to admit I'm a little confused as to the purpose of the third USB port, but it was just a source of curiosity and hasn't been used at all until now. My only other complaint is that you can't see the LED when the silicone bumper is on. Overall the price is great and I can now use my SSD.
