Review on M12-1.50 Steelman Metric Split Die Thread Chaser: Repair Wheel Studs & Bolts Easily! by Julian Rash

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great, used vise grips instead of socket.

I am usually cheap but I will pay premium for a good tool. the tool is well worth the money and saved my butt big-time. ( 1/2 my studs on a truck had bad messed up the threads.). I did not use a socket because it let the halves be a little loose and did not work as well, I used a big vise grips and it works perfect every time. Very pleased

Pros
  • Hardened steel - made of heat-treated and hardened skd11 high carbon and chromium alloy steel
Cons
  • Can be time-consuming to use in a busy shop environment

This die will do the work. I strip my wheel bolt, before going to shoo. I shop at harbor freight. It doest do the work at all on the traidition one. I look through youtube and found this die. All it need is a size 24 socket and place the die to the wall of the thread and go throught it for a 20 min. I have my nut back on with no issue. The trick is take it slow and back and forward.
