Review on Clover Soluble Pencil Set Q5003 by Heather Shaw

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Sharpen, mark, break, repeat.

I am very skeptical of all five star reviews. They are very, very difficult to sharpen (and I'm good at sharpening pencils with a good sharpener). Every time I had to sharpen these pencils (there is no difference between the colors) the lead broke 1-2 times before I could get enough lead out of the pen to write on it. I never got a point because it was impossible - the line would fall out immediately if I even got close to a point. Instead, I sharpened a bit, often just on one side, so I could mark several minutes without a break for sharpening. Sharpen, mark, mark, cut lead. Sharpen, break lead. Sharpen, break lead. Sharpen, mark, mark, mark, break lead. That's what it's like to use these pens.

Pros
  • Also very useful for marking when sewing, embroidering and patchwork
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
