Fits Cub Cadet LTX1046KW

Seems to work well, appears to be an exact replacement. With my Cub Cadet it was plug and play. Here is my review. I wanted to write this right after the install so that every knuckle scrape, cut skin, and swearing episode would be fresh in my mind. The switch block has four plastic tabs, two on each side. Removal is easy. Push the plastic tabs, which you can feel slightly, and the assembly will pop out. Two sets of cables are connected to it. After removing the key assembly, disconnect these two harnesses. Insert them into the new key assembly and you are done. They fit exactly on the OEM key switch. Five Minute Job! Except that my hand couldn't get into the dash to get to the switch. You can see it with a flashlight, you can touch it, but you can't raise your hand to press on these ledges. In retrospect maybe. Energy. They can be pressed with a long screwdriver. It might work and I recommend trying it. The problem is that there is a steel frame that supports the gas tank and blocks access to the switch assembly. There's no good reason to make it that way. There is a special place in the afterlife for engineers who have never held a tool in their hands, and the person who designed this set belongs in the forefront of that place. Four bolts attach this metal frame to the tractor. Over the years I have been able to obtain almost every tool available to man, and a socket wrench with a suitable extension will remove three of them without much effort. And here is the fourth screw. The bottom screw on the driver's side, which is ideally positioned so that it is blocked by the oil filler tube, is almost impossible to unscrew with normal hands. I used every possible extension I had, from short to long. I tried putting a ratchet wrench in it. I tried it with pliers. nothing could get to that screw. It's impossible to understand why any thinking humanoid would put a nut in there when there are so many other places to go. Only those who never used their hands and didn't hold a wrench in their hand could accomplish the feat. And finally, after loosening the remaining three screws, I grabbed the metal structure and bent it. Pulling it out just far enough to put your hand in the dash, the actual replacement was easy and flawless. Another twenty short minutes bending the metal into place so I could reinstall the three screws wasn't easy. With much swearing and blood I got two of these back and put it down for the day. There was more than enough of it to secure the frame. Bottom line - admiration for the stupidity of a world-class tractor design produced by one of the most respected and best American companies of all time, i.e. International Harvester, the reason I bought the wrench assembly had to replace was that I take extra care of my mower and regularly hose it down and then wax it. Apparently water got into the keyhole when the key was inserted and rusted the key and internal mechanisms. Not a car that performs well in the rain. :(
