Review on Derale 18735 Farenheit Electric Controller by Tyler Kota

This Derale 18735 Single Stage 180 Degree Electric Fan Control Thermostatic Car Electric Fan Switch is a complete piece of junk. I tested the switch by placing it in 200 degree water for 10 minutes, not too hot but above the 180 degree "set cut-in temperature". I used a coffee mug, stove top, food thermometer and an Innova digital continuity tester. I tested it 5 times and it NEVER turned on. Unfortunately, I only found other reviews for this product after I placed my order. On several Jeep related off-road forums and several drag racing forums I have found several complaints about defective Derale products from ALL of their fan controller lines. Mine turned out to be the same as the other complaints. I will not buy any more Derale products. In addition, the product packaging and the Derale product website indicate that this product comes with a 3/8 inch NPT male connector for installation in the engine water jacket. However, #1, the connector is actually metric, #2 has no NPT threads, and #3 is almost 5/8" in diameter, NOT 3/8" like OEM coolant sensors.
