Review on Mag Hytec 68RFE MAG HYTEC Transmission Pan by Rick Turner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Outstanding product! Easy installation!

Great pan, no RTV required, use the included fiber pad. When I ordered this I read all these reviews about moving the transmission lines to the side. At least on the 2018 Cummins 68RFE 4x4 they didn't even need to be touched, I dried the gasket pan with one hand and the 6"1/4" extension cover screws started smoothly. Big gap for the transcooler lines, this was the only question or issue I would have after reading other reviews, but it goes on, no problem getting into the coolant filter. This is a great product that keeps trance cool in general. In particular, note that it will run at low speed when driving around town. Now I can't talk about older 6.7/68RFE RAM, but don't let the steeper claims of the line stop you from getting the job done. All in all the job took an hour (without the addition of ATF+4) and my truck used exactly 12 liters when both filters were replaced. Add a Sonnax Line Booster, stay away from chips/programmers and you have a 300,000+ bulletproof truck. I average 19+ mpg city / 22.5-23.5 mpg highway / 17.5-18.5 mpg towing. The only real addition to the stock truck was a replacement K&N air filter. I hope this review helps someone.
