Review on 🌐 HiLetgo VK172 G-Mouse USB GPS/GLONASS Receiver: Enhanced Navigation for Windows 10/8/7/VISTA/XP by Mark Clark

I bought this as a member of the Mageia Linux QA team to test our GPSD software update. I had no experience with these devices before so I was lucky that after installing gpsd plug and play the device worked. At first I was disappointed because although the device started detecting satellites immediately, it didn't block. for all. But when prompted, I plugged the device into my laptop's USB port using a USB extension cable rather than directly. This increased the distance between the unit and my laptop, reduced interference from the laptop and allowed 8 of the 20 satellites detected to be recorded. I'm only giving it 4 stars because while it works fine, I believe the dongle should be able to connect directly to the port and not through an extension. If I wanted a wired device, I wouldn't buy a dongle.
