Introducing the incredibly easy-to-use Canon 600 Speedlight with built-in wireless, Wescott is perfect for providing beautiful diffused light wherever you need it. First, it's so easy that the assistant can follow you all evening and quickly deliver the thing to the right place. Second, I installed it in about 90 seconds or less. Once you line up the clip to hold the flash in place, it stays that way forever (or until you loosen the clip, lol). The clip has a good range of up and down and on and off adjustments to suit pretty much any hot shoe flare. Third, it includes a carrying case, which is large. Last and most important is the light: if you add a small beauty plate, the light is thrown back onto the 'screen' and then passed through the removable diffuser cover, giving you a beautifully diffused modified light. As a fill for an outdoor portrait, or even as the primary outside light for dark backgrounds, the size and portability make this setup great. For outdoor portraits, you often want the light source to be very close, unless you're using $3,000 ProPhoto packages with 1,200 watts of light. Since this Wescott is 26" tall and very portable, your helper can ONLY fold the softbox away from the frame and bring it really close, giving you enough power for all but the brightest sunny days (which is a problem here in Phoenix, lol!). Great device, I will definitely buy a second one.
