I have a 5 gallon aquarium for a male Betta. You may be able to fit this item in a 10 gallon tank but I would say it is best for a 5 gallon tank or less unless you are getting more than one. However, I do not recommend anything under 5 gallons for betta or other fish. I will update soon. I got this fish and an aquarium. Anyway, I modified this with an air sponge (very easy, seriously, google it if you don't know what I'm talking about and do it for best results). I tried a few others but they were too strong for bettas. Mine swims through these! So far super satisfied. I'll update as more important information emerges!
