Review on Cordiant Snow Cross 195/65 R15 91T winter by Boyan Ivanov ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The ratio of price and quality is very pleasing, I will repeat the purchase.

about the Cordiant Snow Cross, I will say this: the rubber allows you to drive quite well, not particularly caring about the condition of the coating. It goes through icy turns at speed very predictably, you can easily drown 130 km / h on an icy road with ruts in the asphalt. I went to the ice circuit this year - the tires behave very well on bare ice, absolutely the same sensations as on Gislaved or Hakka. I want to say that I have something to compare this Cordiant with: 1. Michelin X-Ice North 3 - skated for 1.5 seasons, kept well on ice, satisfactorily on snow due to the shallow tread. But the main drawback - it lasted only 1.5 seasons, after which there was a complete absence of any presence of spikes, they stopped keeping the road at all, even slightly caught up with someone once. 2. Nokian Nordman 4 - I drove it for less than a season, I bought it as a temporary hut for 3 months before selling the car. I chose cheaper to sell with the car, but after a train ride, I realized - I'll keep it for myself :-) Very good rubber in terms of grip, but there are drawbacks - very noisy, and for 3 months. on the front wheels, 5% of the spikes were lost. Then I sold it separately from the car. 3. Gislaved Nord Frost 3 - It was a great rubber, almost like Nord Frost II, but a little less durable.

Pros
  • - Very good and predictable behavior and braking on ice. Maybe just a little worse than the famous brands. It allows you to brake on icy asphalt without losing the trajectory, for example, when overtaking, from a speed of 120-130 km / h. - It behaves very predictably in icy asphalt ruts (I have a size of 215\60\16). - Perfectly holds the road in the snow, as well as at positive temperatures - in snow porridge and mud. - A good start from a place on the ice. - The installers were afraid that over time, the passage of air through the holes for the spikes begins. But after three seasons everything is fine (t-t-t). - Properly run-in tires make noise comparable to summer tires. Having changed my shoes now, I understand that the noise is almost the same as on the summer BridgeStone Turanza. And this is not a buzz, like some, but I would say, rustling. - Balanced when buying with very small loads, after 45t. km. balancing is normal. - The loss of studs per 45t. km is about 15%, more than a decent result, considering my riding style. - The price is more than reasonable.
Cons
  • - Noise for about the first 2022-3000 t. km. After this run, the noise is noticeably reduced. - There is a slight increase in braking distance on ice at temperatures from -16 to -19. If -15 or warmer, then it holds perfectly, if -20 or colder, it is also excellent. Namely, in this temperature range it is slightly worse. But I think this is not critical, eminent tires also have such effects.
