Folks, be aware that this is to seal the plastic lid of the jug. Otherwise it doesn't work. Ask me how do I know? This is a well constructed and well performing pump. But it works by adding air pressure to the jug with a hand press. (That's why the plastic lid seal is so important.) Air pressure pushes the water up the tube and out the spout. It just doesn't work without a seal! So don't throw away the jug seal, most can be left behind, and the center plug has been removed to allow the siphon tube to go in. If you don't have such a cover, you can buy it here. I use this as a supplement to my battery pump as part of my hurricane prep supplies. In my opinion, this is the pump you want because electrical equipment can fail, but mechanical equipment usually lasts longer and is more reliable. Now we can store and drink pure filtered water without having to store a heavy bottle or bulky box and space-consuming faucet. This makes water transfer easy and efficient.
