Blocks 1-2-3 are a common first cut design. Any aspiring locksmith should be able to craft a pair of these from scrap metal, so any toolmaker should be able to figure this out. My blocks were well packaged and wrapped in paper soaked in light machine oil. I cleaned them and ran them across a block of granite with a dial indicator. All faces are parallel and perpendicular 0.0002-0.0003; maybe even better if I had a cleaner block of granite and a better caliber. All edges are rough but effectively beveled. All faces are polished. The machining of the holes is fairly rough, but there are no chips or debris. Yes, the through holes are too small, and while I don't actually need to screw them together, if I ever do, I'll have to drill a couple of the right diameter holes. I heard that "almost all" 1-2-3 blocks have this disadvantage, except for the very expensive ones. Therefore, simply drilling them can be more profitable than spending a lot of time or money looking for pre-drilled blocks. . They fit what I need perfectly, so I'm glad I didn't have to spend a lot on them.
