With few of the shutters on my house discolored (and to varying degrees) and being unable to purchase exact replacements, I was faced with replacing all of them or looking for a product that could do the trick restore color. I read great reviews about this product and decided to give it a try. I cleaned the shutters with cleaning solution and wiped down with steel wool (you'll need more than they give). Then I applied the product like I would paint shutters and you wouldn't notice the color coming back right away. You look brand new. I don't know how long it will take, but I'm very satisfied. I would like to point out that this is a labor intensive project between soaking, brushing, rinsing and applying the Renu solution. If I had to do it all over again I would probably remove the shutters from the house first rather than doing everything on the extension ladder. Replacement bolt locks are cheap and it would be much nicer and faster if I did it that way.
