I have a 2001 Dakota 4.7L. The check engine light came on, the code was for sensor 1/1 (left front). The dealer offered me something in the $150 range just for the OEM sensor. Guess what - this Denso is perfect. The connector is exactly the same as the original. You will need to keep the small red plastic clip from the old sensor. FYI - not much room under the truck to work, but with the 4x4 clearance I didn't have to jack it up! Anyway, I broke that little red clip trying to put it back on, but I was able to use some zip ties to hold the plug and socket together. I'm not sure how long this "fix" will last, but I'll get a good CEL when it gets brittle and fails! I do not care. However, the path to the sensor itself is quite simple. There is a small access panel in the front left wheel well. You will need a universal joint, an O2 head, a 6" extension, a breaker and a torque wrench (for reinstallation). Save yourself some crazy bucks, buy this and make it yourself.
