My mum always had a Nesco roaster growing up and it's basically the same. Same huge capacity, same big domed lid. You feel like they might need an update as there isn't much that's new. It's really a cheap device, just a simple heating element, something like a thermostat, well, that's all. It's mostly metal and heats up like a slow cooker, maybe even more. In fact, this is a multicooker with a high cost. However, it comes in handy when you simply need more space. Boil caramel corn, keep a side dish or turkey warm. We often don't cook a turkey in it (although that's an option), preferring to use an oven or grill for this hard work, rather than as a warming device.
