Update 2: Since everything is working fine now, I found out that the disk format should be exFat, not NTFS, upgrade to 4 stars, deduct one because not specified this somewhere in their user documentation.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Update: I was confused why The second one didn't work as my first one worked fine. I then checked the file format on my USB drive and found that it was the NTFS format, which is a Windows format. I found another ExFat USB drive, plugged it in and it worked! ExFat format works on both Windows and Mac, but NTFS is Windows only. So if your USB drive doesn't work right away, check the format of your drive and make sure it is in ExFat format. If not, you need to format it first. Be warned that if you already have other content on the drive, formatting will erase everything on the drive. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I need this adapter to to back up my pictures to my iPhone, it's a good solution. I first bought this adapter in January 2021 and it worked great. I gave it to my daughter. 7 months later I bought the same one but this one does NOT work, it doesn't show up in the files app no matter what I do, I cycled the phone, plugged the power into the lightning connector, nothing , Nothing. appears! I have iOS 14.4.2 so it's not very old. Very disappointed.
