We had to have this for our 3DS. It's very similar to the Wii or Xbox version, but you can save characters so you don't have to take them everywhere. Of course, if you have a lot of characters, it will take some time to set them all up in there. Characters are backwards compatible, so any character from the original Skylanders through to Trap Force will work here. The game is pretty fun, just like the console version but scaled down so the levels are the same length and all. We love the Skylanders here. This game is a must for every fan
