The filament sensor actually works quite well, although there are a few quirks in Marlin that need to be addressed. They are related to a change in the thread. It is logical that you should use the unload function to place a thread of a different color. If you do this in Marlin you will regret it. The firmware doesn't know how to proceed and you may find that the nozzle continues to go half a mile over the object. However, if you use the Extrude feature, you might have better luck. In addition, the sensor does what it is supposed to do!
