These lights are very bright when viewed head-on, but the brightness diminishes dramatically to the sides. The hazed surface on the lens helps somewhat but just know that these lights are similar to flashlights in that their light is directional. In sunlight these lights are only bright from directly in front, and hardly noticeable to the sides. At night they're very bright and very commanding from a wide angle.However, my main complaint is that there is no real wiring harness--just some loose wires sticking out from the back. That means the wiring connections have to be made right next to the light, which means you'll have to be very careful about how you wire these up in any location that is open to the elements (like in a car's grill). So to mount this light in an exterior location you'll have to connect the short conductors to a separate multi-conductor cable, using waterproof splices (like heat shrink tubing over soldered connections), and then run the cable to where you can make the final connections to power. Other similar lights (such as Xprite's version) come with a real wiring harness where the conductors are a couple feet long (as opposed to a few inches) and encased in a plastic jacket so the connections can be in a more protected area, and the wiring will be much simpler and more reliable.
