Good quality rope lantern.
We installed a string of lights on the outside edge of the porch railing to provide limited lighting in the backyard. We have a timer that turns on at dusk and turns off 4 hours after dark. To get a straight line I had to buy a second set of mounting hooks to keep the rope from sagging between the hooks. The lights are quite bright so they will be distracting when they shine in your eyes. I'm glad we put a railing on the outside of the porch back then.
