Review on πŸš— Dorman 918 300 Power Steering Cooler: Achieve Optimal Steering Performance by Leo Fairchild

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits and works perfectly on Saab 9-7x 5.3i!

The perfect OEM replacement and as you can see from the pictures it was DEFINITELY time to replace my 2008 Saab 9-7x because mine rotted out last week and all the PS fluid spat out. my 08 Saab 9-7x 5.3i without removing bumpers or bumper covers. If you remove a few bumper screws and push pins you should be able to rotate the bumper enough to slide the old power steering cooler out from underneath and put the new one back in place. Begin by reinstalling the radiator on the driver's side. This makes it easier to thread the "tubes" through the frame. You'll understand what I'm talking about when you get there. Tip: Remove (and tighten later) the power steering cooler bolts through the lower extension grille. Yes, the OEM clamps are PITAs that need to be removed. You need to clamp them with pliers and twist them on the hose. Do not immediately try to squeeze and move the clamp or squeeze and remove the hose, you will complicate your work. Using pliers, open the clamp, twist, move up the hose, THEN remove the hose from the notched line coming from the radiator. Please. I've read reviews of people saying that the Dorman 918-300 bolt holes don't line up perfectly - they won't line up if you tighten the other end first. I tightened one end, went to the other, and it didn't fit. Loosen the end I tightened which allowed it to wobble a bit and it lined up perfectly. Took me 1 hour from start to finish. He seems really well built and I hope I never do that job again lol.
