Review on πŸ”§ Homax 6100 12-Inch Black Ceiling Texture Scraper, Ultimate SEO-Enhanced Product by Tutcht Cobb

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not for big jobs but probably good for smaller ones

I'm giving 3 stars because it's a unique idea with potential. But in practice this is not the best product. Here are my observations: 1) Hanging the bag on the device reduces manual dexterity. The rocking bag lets the device rock in your hands. 2) The scraper blade is a little thin and needs to be very straight, otherwise it will pierce the soft drywall and peel off the paper. it happened to me 3) The scraper blade is not wide enough for many jobs. It may be ok for little ones. 4) The mess created by this device is no less than using other methods. 5) You can't get to the last inch of the popcorn so you need another scraper to get it out. The frame of the bag blocks access to the wall. 6) Plugging in an extension cord sounds like a good idea, but reduces manual dexterity. Nothing can replace a scraper in your bare hand. 7) You'll quickly lose the little black plastic tabs that are supposed to hold the pouch in place. They are small, not attached to the device and easily lost. 8) You MUST wet the popcorn with water or you won't be able to scrape it off effectively like you can with any other scraper. This does not eliminate this step. Wet popcorn is heavy and, as mentioned earlier, will cause the collection bag to wobble. So. I ended up going back to my old method which is a high quality 8 inch scraper with a plastic basket.
