These work wonders. As a coach, it frustrates me when players don't always follow the ball. This problem can be solved. You don't learn to catch a groundball overnight. This requires repetition. Add this to your practice and watch your gaming performance improve. When I was at school, we put our hats in our mouths, which did the same thing. The goal is to get the player to bend their knees, crouch, and most importantly, stretch their arms out in front. Extending your hands forward makes it easier for you to follow the ball until it hits the glove. Adapting to bad bounces is easier too, as a few inches can mean the ball is in front of you or bouncing between your legs. Use them as part of a complete foundational training approach. For disclosure only. I've played baseball for over 25 years. Other coaches have voted me coach of the city's all-star team for the last two years.
