I have professional Kai shears and I really like them so I wanted to see if the circle cutters were as good. The weight and feel was good and I liked the ability to choose between a light or heavy cut. I set the heavy cut mode and started cutting through 4 layers of material. What a mess. My very first use shredded the material, it took several passes and the material got stuck between the blade and the protective coating. I tried several times before deciding to try a new blade. With a new blade and knife on a heavy cut I tried again. It worked great. I took a close look at the blade that came with the cutter and found that my used blades were in better condition than their new blade. Now that it's working, I'm hoping the light and heavy cutting feature will help protect my cutting mat. The time will show. I gave 4 stars because I needed to replace her blade otherwise I would have given her 5 stars.
