I bought this cutting machine because while I am very careful with cutting tools, I have many young grandchildren and will never forgive me if one of them caught one of my disc cutters and injured himself. It's the safest design I've ever used and it's nice to know my little fingers are safe. I don't have to sacrifice performance for safety in my purchasing decision.

This is my second vinyl cutter because I need a spare when I get together with my sisters to work on projects. If we meet there are many other rotary cutters but this one works the best. I love that there is no safety release button, but the blade just pops out when you push down to cut. It also feels good in the hand and does not slip when cutting. I've tried several in my work and this is by far the best for blade sharpness and maneuvering around cuts.

I started quilting 25 years ago and have only ever used a Kai knife. I only bought another one because I dropped my trusty one and broke it. I have professional Kai shears and I really like them so I wanted to see if the circle cutters were as good. The weight and feel was good and I liked the ability to choose between a light or heavy cut. I set the heavy cut mode and started cutting through 4 layers of material. What a mess.
