Review on Kapro 926M Magnetic Billet 6 Inch by Chad Carter

Your level is best: Levels

Well, torpedo variety. I used to spend most of my days adjusting plumbing, mostly in uncomfortable high and awkward spots. I dropped a lot of levels and at least they were cheap. I've made jigs for clamping work pieces for some, but there wasn't much work to do with a typical plastic or fiberglass frame. Kapro solves this problem in three ways - super strong rare earth magnets, easily visible bubbles from almost all viewing angles. but the best part is that it is very hard work for its size. What was new to me was a brass thumbscrew to attach the spirit level as close to the center edge of the tube as possible. It makes tube bending easy and precise, which any electrician of any experience I know can do in his sleep. I've found this to be incredibly useful for just aligning long sections of pipe and not having to rely on magnets. Which obviously wouldn't be a good idea with a copper pipe. The four tubes instead of the usual three are a bit small, but well protected by a sturdy housing. Markers at 45°, 90° and 30° angles are made by them, as well as two more at the end of the line for easier targeting. The level is about 2/3 the size of a typical torpedo and is built to last. I'm pretty sure you could drive a car over it with no damage, although unlike some of my other reviews I put it to work straight away and don't want to sacrifice it. At the other end of the clip we find a small lanyard, since the torpedo always ends up in the pocket this didn't make much sense to me, actually less than a little since the hole through which it is threaded is the diameter of a pencil and can be useful for labeling something, although I'm not exactly sure how to do that at the time of writing this article. But it fits, so someone responsible for this well thought out tool thought it was a good idea. Of course there is a groove running the full length of the body to help center the tube. If you are not finished, unfortunately remove them. I finally settled on a nut instead of a screw and removed it somewhere safe. It's hard to imagine that something as simple and basic as a level could be improved, but Kapro has done just that with this inexpensive, nearly indestructible torpedo. Walking down the electronics aisle at my local Big Box, I found an absolutely identical pad, but branded Klein. Almost the same price as Kapro. While I haven't seen any printing on this thing, I'm sure budding DIYers will prefer their favorite brand name.
