Review on Expand Your Solar Power With SolarEnz'S 30Ft Extension DC Cable For Portable Stations And Panels by Jerome Pernell

Unreliable connectivity

I used this to extend my cord from a Jackery 500 to a Solar Saga. It was a constant nagging weak link in a month long tour of the American West. Before leaving I tested it a few times to confirm it worked and didn’t diminish the output from the panel to an unacceptable degree. Worked just fine and I knew I’d have enough solar to keep me off grid.Within the first few days of the trip I used it for the first time and noticed neither the male end of my panel’s cord, nor that of my 12volt vehicle adapter would stay sufficiently seated in the female end of this cord. And I noticed the hard way. First I thought my kid or wife had been careless with it, so I pushed it back together and placed it carefully out of the way and watched it like a hawk. Little did I know that it works its own way out. Over hours of full summer sun I ran through my power supply, then couldn’t get enough drive time to charge up and make it through the next night of refrigeration and computer work. Ended up dropping into an RV park during a holiday and spending an outrageous sum to get a site with power in order to make up for the loss. Through the rest of the trip I used duct tape that I unfastened and refastened each time I needed to switch power sources. I was ceaselessly paranoid for a month.I’m going to cut this end off and replace with Anderson first chance I get.
