I hike a lot in the Colorado mountains year round and these crampons are great for extra traction and stability! We've used them on a few hikes and they work surprisingly well on icy and snowy trails (when the snow isn't deep enough for snowshoes or skis). I wear size 9 women's boots and they fit great (and my boyfriend's big boots fit his size 11)! regular Hillsound crampons or Katoolah microspikes) and the added bonus of a strap on top to keep them in place. They also come with a nice pouch (which is actually very good for cats) so you can carry them in your backpack without scratching your other gear.
