Revainrating 5 out of 5

Inexpensive basic fan with good performance

Update: This fan still works great after a year. No complaints. And I feel like I have to go back to the noise mentioned in many reviews. This fan just doesn't make any noise unless you find the sound of rushing air loud, which is what the fan does. As for the noise of the engine or the blades, this is not the case. After careful research I bought a higher quality Rowenta fan for $120. It worked flawlessly and quietly, which was important to me. Three years later, for no apparent reason, he stopped working altogether. It just wouldn't turn on at all. Not wanting to spend another hundred dollars just to get a dead fan 3 years later, I did some more research and bought this Lasko fan for about $35. Assembly is easy, although I would have preferred the front cage to be a little more secure. It doesn't fall off, but neither does it attach with a satisfying click-in-place feel. There are many reviews here that mention that this fan is noisy. I don't find it particularly loud. It sounds like a regular fan and I'm pretty picky about noise. There's no annoying clicking when it wiggles (like some fans do) and yes, it's a bit louder than the Rowenta, but I wouldn't call it exceptional. One thing I did was buy a $6 4 year extended warranty. I don't usually use these guarantees, but if you read enough fan reviews, almost everyone has a sudden death problem for no reason (like my Rowenta). So for a few extra dollars I am guaranteed a working fan for at least 4 years. And I still paid 1/3 the price I paid for the Rowenta. So far I am happy with this fan. For the price you can't go wrong in my opinion.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Vulgarity
