I'll rate this a 5 which I rarely do due to the customer service. Before purchasing I asked a few questions, which were always answered politely and quickly. Since I bought this to cover blind spots in a windowless van, I needed rear-facing side cameras. They sent me a camera to replace the front camera quickly and free of charge. Something you rarely see these days. Installation is relatively easy. I was a bit scared at first, but for the most part there were no problems. The hiccups I encountered were due to my own stupidity, lack of a short screwdriver and a second pair of hands. These were all easy to fix when I came across them. To be honest the only thing that got me thinking was the moment I had to drill a big hole in the van for assembly. However, every leaking issue was fixed with silicone tape and lots of silicone sealant. There was a "expect a lot of soldering" review here. I don't know what it was. The only soldering I find necessary is soldering the power cord to the cigarette lighter wire. There are extra pins that automatically make the appropriate full size view if you turn on the turn signal, break it etc. This would require additional soldering but as I really wanted to mess around with the van's motor/electronics this didn't come into play play. I chose this package for the reason I bought it - safety. I was considering a wireless camera, but between a possible signal delay/dropout at a critical moment and the fact that you need to plug in power for the wireless connection, I decided to go with a wired camera anyway. Wiring the camera is the easiest part of the installation. The cameras are solidly built and have a good resolution. The only issue I had when using the front/rear camera is the cable protruding past the center hole of the mounting bracket. Since I wanted to use silicone strap to improve waterproofing, I had to use the middle mounting hole. This required unscrewing the camera from the mount to route the cable through the center hole of the mount. This is where my stupidity showed - I assembled it upside down. Pay attention to the position of the green dot and mount accordingly. The monitor has a good resolution and I like the fact that it has an anti-glare screen all around it. I notice a very thin 1/4 inch wide vertical rainbow line running from side to side. However, if you're not looking at the screen, you won't notice. Also, based on my experience with customers, I have no doubt that if something goes wrong with the monitor, they will replace it. If you are looking for a camera system to reduce driving stress, improve safety and provide evidence in the event of an accident, I highly recommend this device. This is more expensive than a simple rearview mirror mount and requires more assembly effort. However, it's not too difficult to install and offers 360-degree coverage. Also, the rear camera does absolutely nothing with dead zones. The area most likely to cause an accident. It's worth the price and installation time.
