Several people have asked what these cleaning sponges are made of. I don't know how many people are willing to cut them open to find out, so I'll grab one for the team. I did a burn test to try to understand the material. The outside of the sponge burned fairly clean, the terrycloth, which looks like a looped backside, has some polyester content or so as it leaves a hard, dry, brittle piece of melted substance. The white inner sponge burned off quickly, leaving a small amount of greasy solid residue that I can smudge. The product also comes in plastic packaging, so it's not a good fit for those of us trying to reduce single-use plastic. I hope this helps someone.
