I've done a lot of brake work over the years and normally just push back the piston in the caliper with the brake shoe by hand. There's usually some difficulty getting it back in and I've always run the risk of pushing the plunger back in crookedly. The lugs on the end of the pushrod piston help center the pushrod on the piston and hold the piston back straight, and the hand crank makes it easy to rotate the piston back. I do not need that. replacing the brakes soon, but having this tool handy, for example, only helps make things smoother. I will update the review if the tool doesn't live up to expectations.
